Sacralized militaries routinize violence into everyday civilian dispositions of seeing and feeling.

Evidence

Routine violence is not just violence routinized but the shaping, directing, and filling of institutional dispositions, sensibilities, and cultures of the society by those of state-repressive apparatuses such as the military and police. Where the military is socially sacralized (the US, Israel), social subjectivities become formed by, through, and with(in) these modes of violence, routinizing them into daily life, making them default dispositions of seeing, feeling, and doing. Social subjects become immured to socially expressed violence in their collective name, walled off against even the recognition while bemoaning the condition of those whose lives have been disrupted directly or indirectly by such violence. — David Theo Goldberg, The Threat of Race, 1827
