Representational thought is the product of Christianity’s testing of time as promise
Evidence
Christian revelation requires of thought that it tests out that time which is promise itself, that future which is ‘pro-tension’. Representational thought is the result of this putting of time to the test. If the speculative meaning of Christianity surpasses this limited time and the metaphysics of subjectivity which follows from it, this is something we can only perceive after a certain time, after having finally achieved the extreme moment of kenosis. Only speculative philosophy has the potential to conceptualize the truth of time tested in the dimension of the limit. — Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel, 871
