Removing inharmonic 7th, 11th, and 13th partials fails to improve tonal quality
Evidence
It is easy in MAX Partials to set up several related experiments and test these ideas yourself. The author did, with the following results: Removal of the 7th, 11th, and 13th partials did little to soothe a raspy 100 Hz note with 20 fairly strong partials, declining in strength with frequency. Removing three other nearby partials fared about as well. β Eric J. Heller, Why You Hear What You Hear- Anβ¦, 2355
