Regional racial histories shape principal routes of exclusionary experience

Evidence

In the second instance, I have been concerned in the central body of this book with an inductive cartography of racial fabrication and racist exclusion across five broad regional terrains, historically indexed. These regions largely have dominated and determined the historical and contemporary legacies of racial definition, shaping the principal routes of exclusionary racist experience and the main modalities of racist conception and counter-practice. This second mapping exemplifies the shifting terrains of race, racially fueled threats and violence, debilitation, terror, and prompted profiteering, personally and socially, politico-economically and culturally. — David Theo Goldberg, The Threat of Race, 1723
