Post-conversion mobility aided both assimilation and Islamic renewal
Evidence
The newly acquired mobility of the Muslims from north to south in Spain had varied consequences. It could be a factor tending to favor assimilation, for it brought Muslims out of the confines of their morer´ıas and into contact with the general community. On the other hand, it enabled ex-Mudejar Castilian Muslims to contact their Granadan brethren more easily and so to renew their networks of Islamic education. — L. P.
