Plosive pauses of 60-150 ms go unnoticed in speech perception

Evidence

The pronounciation of plosives is connected with the production of pauses that last between 60 and 150 ms. These pauses, physically needed before a plosive can be pronounced, are not obvious in speech perception - if one does not pay much attention to them, they are not perceived. This means that these pauses, although physically existent, are very short in subjective duration and play only a secondary role in speech perception. — Professor Dr.-Ing.
