Play-House repurposed Warhol film material into stage productions after splitting from Tavel
Evidence
Tavel hoped to follow up this triumph with Gorilla Queen, but Vaccaro found the play too long and convoluted. Instead, the Play-House presented a one-act dramatization of the Warhol movie Kitchen, retitled Kitchenette, together with a revival of Juanita Castro. Fresh from Chelsea Girls, Mary Woronov was cast as Fidel in the latter and assumed the Edie Sedgwick part in the former. Jack Smith had a walk-on. — J. Hoberman, Everything Is Now, 953
