Plasticity recurs symptomatically across Hegel’s corpus but was wrongly neglected.
Evidence
By ‘plasticity’ we mean first of all the excess of the future over the future; while ‘temporality’, as it figures in speculative philosophy, will mean the excess of time over time. — Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel, 210 (

To form the concept of plasticity as it figures in Hegel’s philosophy requires first of all that we uncover the way in which Hegel himself constructs this idea. When we take this further, we find that three areas of meaning are mutually implicated. In each case that double connotation of the adjective ‘plastic’ reappears: a capacity to receive form and a capacity to produce form. It is this double signification which enables us to treat the adjective as itself a ‘speculative word’, in Hegel’s special sense. — Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel, 228 (

We must consider that in a certain sense the brain does not obey itself, that it manufactures events, that there can be an excess in the system, an explosive part that, without being pathological, refuses to obey. We have seen that plasticity allows us to combine the thought of a sculpture of the self with that of transdifferentiation. To exist is to be able to change difference while respecting the difference of change: the difference between continuous change, without limits, without adventure, without negativity, and a formative change that tells an effective story and proceeds by ruptures, conflicts, dilemmas. — Catherine Malabou, What Should We Do with Our Brain?, 258 (
