Peter the Venerable claimed the Qur’an uniquely forbade religious discussion
Evidence
This theme was taken up at length by Peter the Venerable. He admonished his imaginary Islamic audience that the Qur’an is alone in refusing to discuss religion; and, he thought, contrary therein to the custom of the Greeks and Romans, the Persians and Indians, who all sought ever after truth. Conversion of the world to Christianity had been peaceful; the conversion of the English was a case in point. — Norman Daniel, Islam and the West, 696
