Pervasive slavery legacy requires systemic rather than piecemeal solutions
Evidence
Because the legacy of slavery is pervasive and is found in every nook and cranny of American life, piecemeal solutions will be insufficient. We need a big plan, one with systemic tentacles that would reach every aspect of society. Therefore I am calling for the creation of a commission to study the problem and make bold recommendations. And I need allies to support that process as well as their recommendations. We need to dare to imagine what it would take to build a future where black success (financial, social, and/or political) is no longer newsworthy but the expected norm. — Dorothy A. Brown, Getting to Reparations, 512
