People live by mixed moral principles, not one universal theory
Evidence
A variety of moral theories, rooted in different moral principles, have been proposed for judging the rightness and wrongness of conduct. This moral pluralism includes, among other principles, social justice, duty, benevolence, and equality as well as composites of them. There is no consensus among scholars of grand moral theories on a universal principle that governs the moral behavior of all persons, in all cultures, under all conditions. In actuality, people live moral lives based on a variety of moral principles. — Albert Bandura, Moral Disengagement, 193
