Patriarchal constraint forces unwanted frequent childbearing on women
Evidence
Many patriarchal societies devalue the education of girls and women, who are relegated to a subservient role in which they have little say about family matters and have few educational opportunities. These social constraints confine them to a life of early and frequent childbearing. In many countries with high fertility rates, after women have had several children, they do not want any more. Frequent unplanned childbearing compromises the kinds of lives that they can lead and the standard of living they can provide for their children. — Albert Bandura, Moral Disengagement, 2894
