Pat Robertson mainstreamed an Illuminati conspiracy theory through national stature
Evidence
In the course of laying out this scheme, Robertson presents a picture familiar to readers of Illuminati literature: Weishaupt’s order prepared the way for the French Revolution, then became the source for global communism, eventually producing the Russian Revolution. These efforts were fi nanced at key points by Jewish international bankers: the Rothschilds; the fi rm of Kuhn, Loeb; Jacob Schiff; and the Warburgs. This is scarcely an original scenario. Its signifi cance lies not in its content but in its authorship, for Robertson is the fi rst modern religious and political fi gure of national stature to embrace a belief in an Illuminatist conspiracy. — Michael Barkun, A Culture of Conspiracy, 294
