One released rapist of an Okinawan girl later committed murder and suicide
Evidence
Two of the perpetrators, Gill and Harp, received seven-year prison sentences. The third, Ledet (who claimed he faked raping the girl because he feared Gill), received a six-and-a-half-year sentence. Three years after the men were released from Japanese prison, Ledet committed suicide. Police in Kennesaw, Georgia, found him next to a former co-worker whom he had sexually assaulted, bludgeoned, and strangled to death. — David Vine, Base Nation_ How U.S. Military Bases…, 566
