Not a single participant at the hearing defended Harvard’s position

Evidence

As the hearing ended, the judge indicated, in an emotionless way, that he had heard our arguments and would make his ruling. After his closing remarks, people were allowed to turn on their microphones. Suddenly I heard a symphony of familiar and unfamiliar voices shouting, “Free Renty!” and “Black Lives Matter!” in an almost choral effect. It made my heart swell knowing how many people had shown up to support me—as well as Renty and Delia. I knew many of the participants, and realized, just as I was about to sign off, that everyone on the Zoom had shown up for me. No one was there to defend Harvard—because they were indefensible. — Tamara Lanier, From These Roots, 1191
