Muslims in the US are ordinary citizens who mirror the general population

Evidence

Pew’s (2011) study titled Muslims in America: No Signs of Growth in Alienation or Support for Extremism attempted to answer some of these questions by surveying Muslims in the United States. They found that the overwhelming majority of Muslims condemn Islamic extremism, but fewer than half of Muslims interviewed feel that the U.S. government’s efforts to combat terrorism are sincere, and more than 80 percent felt satisfied with life in America. More than half feel that Muslims who come to America are eager to adopt an American way of life, while three-quarters of respondents believe that by working hard, one can get ahead in life. The survey revealed that Muslims are normal, ordinary Americans who mirror the general population in terms of educational level, income, and other aspects of American life. — Saher Selod, Forever Suspect_ Racialized…, 109
