Mohammad’s Muslim student club outranked the Christian club in size at his old school
Evidence
We did, but we arrived late to the high school anyway. We surrendered our IDs to enter, and the security guard recognized Mohammad and smiled broadly at him, telling him he looked exactly as he did in high school but for his beard. They traded news politely while the rest of us were signed in. Eventually we proceeded into the high-school fortress, and we walked the hospital-like hallways to the classroom. On the way, we passed a large banner advertising all the clubs in the school. “Yo, look at that,” Jihad observed. “The ‘Muslims Students’ is written in bigger letters than ‘The Christian Club.’ Subhanallah!” I looked at the sign and saw that he was right. — Moustafa Bayoumi, How Does It Feel to Be a Problem?
