Media coverage, not need, determines which refugees receive humanitarian aid
Evidence
Media ethics are built on the cornerstone of fair, balanced, and objective coverage. This mission is marred by the heavy hand of whiteness within newsrooms, and more intrusively, on the very screens that breathe life into the humans conveyed within their square lines. Those within the lines are humanized and those at the margins are erased, or buried beyond the borders of the screen. This humanizing often materializes into aid that people struggling against the formidable odds of war and the even more formidable plight of statelessness need. β Khaled A.
