Measurement axes produce low-frequency calibration errors from woofer offset and port placement
Evidence
With tall, floor-standing loudspeakers placed horizontally the woofers scan an arc a distance from the calibration point/axis of rotation. This means that they do not interact with the residual standing waves in the chamber in the same way that the calibration woofer did. On any measurement axis there may be low-frequency calibration errors due to this and to the placement of reflex ports. A pragmatic solution was to use the sound power calculation, which involves all 34 measurements, as a reasonable estimate. β Toole, Floyd E, Sound reproduction- the acoustics andβ¦, 169
