Marginalized groups carry a historically forged drive to survive and revive
Evidence
At the same time, those of African descent and the indigenous bring to the mix an acute sense, historically forged and reļ¬ned, of what it means and takes to survive and revive, faced by the entangled challenges of economic degradation and sometime desperation, by racial antagonism and depreciation, by cultural misor non-recognition and nominal oversight. The drive to survive, individually and communally, materially and culturally, politically and legally, in the face of these weights of race offers lessons as well as hope to anyone, any group, similarly challenged. ā David Theo Goldberg, The Threat of Race, 1228
