Many daily headphone users disbelieve headphones cause hearing damage despite symptoms
Evidence
Fasanya and Strong (2019) surveyed 280 college students who frequently wear headphones. Forty-four percent of daily users did not believe headphones cause hearing damage despite reporting symptoms normally associated with hearing damage: 25% experienced ringing in their ears, 33% experienced trouble sleeping and 23% believed that headphones had negatively affected their academic performance. β Toole, Floyd E, Sound reproduction- the acoustics andβ¦, 1705
