Liberal data-driven policies treat black communities as projects whose members are invisible.

Evidence

Such a view often leads to an approach to black communities as “projects” that renders the actual people who live there invisible. KIPP schools, a public charter school network in underserved communities, come to mind. Black children are vigorously regimented in these schools. Orderliness and obedience are seen as a precondition for instruction. An underlying assumption of this organization is that our children lack discipline and require a strict environment to learn. — Eddie S. Glaude Jr., Democracy in Black, 542
