Kusama staged an early morning Anatomic Explosion on 80 Varick Street, just below Houston. As reported by the New York Times, “Four long-haired young people, two of them girls, stripped off their clothes, donned masks of the presidential candidates and pranced in the nude on the rain-spattered steps of the Board of Elections in lower Manhattan.” Kusama was quoted: “Let’s learn the naked truth about the candidates.” — J.
