Jews and Muslims alike were cast as perpetual Christ-killers
Evidence
It is difficult, if not impossible, to differentiate between Jewish and Muslim characters in many Renaissance paintings of Christ’s arrest, torture, and death. Both continued to be portrayed as Christ-killers, appearing in scenes of the Crucifixion and executions of Christian martyrs. These are graphic depictions of violence, at times almost pornographic in their display of bodies and the violence done to them. — Sophia Rose Arjana, Muslims in the Western Imagination, 250
