Jack Smith delivered spaced dialogue with intervals of up to twenty minutes between lines

Evidence

A form of glacial suspense was provided by Jack Smith, given dialogue which he pronounced so slowly that Richard Foreman recalled intervals of five, ten, and even twenty minutes between the lines (and “believe it or not: the wait was exhilarating”). Not surprisingly, Mekas reported, much of the audience walked out, thus missing what he considered “forty minutes of the most beautiful, spiritual, almost heavenly cinema experience.” — J. Hoberman, Everything Is Now, 776
