Italian operatives funded Somali allies to campaign for restored colonial rule

Evidence

Shortly after the commission left Somalia, Hussen was transferred to the signal station in Baidoa. In Baidoa he was the chief SYL person, and he monitored cash sent by the Italians to their supporters in the area. These pro-Italian Somalis in Baidoa agitated for the restoration of Italian rule, but the police kept them in check for the time being. — Abdi Ismail Samatar, Africa’s First Democrats, 216
