Insider trading remains rampant and easy to commit
Evidence
Illegal insider trading is an easy crime to commit. It is simply a matter of passing on secret information to a fellow trader who cashes in on the advance information and shares the profits or provides a generous payment. It therefore comes as no surprise that Preet Bharara, the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, reports that insider trading is not only rampant many years later, but may even be on the rise. He calls this common practice a “financial steroid” (DeCambre, 2010). — Albert Bandura, Moral Disengagement, 1432
