Immigrant Muslims rejected the NOI as sacrilegious heresy

Evidence

It is worth noting immigrant Muslims’ rejection of followers of the Nation of Islam. The immigrants found the belief that Fard Muhammad was God and Elijah Muhammad the son of God sacrilegious. A core tenet of Islam is the belief that God is not human and that Muhammad was his final prophet. Moreover, NOI members, like Moorish Science Temple followers, did not prostrate themselves when praying. Nor did they practice any other of the five pillars of Islam. — Sahar F.
