Imagined economic turmoil triples role-played authoritarianism among students
Evidence
I doubt that anyone ever taught them a system of responses to the many issues raised by the RWA Scale. And yet, those answers are better interconnected, more systematic than the economic ones. If you believe these politicians have economic ideologies, they have an even stronger one regarding authoritarian submission, authoritarian aggression, and conventionalism. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3477 (

Discussion. Basically, the results confirm the first alumni study. Higher education apparently lowered the authoritarianism of most of these people, especially the Highs who began to experience the wider world (as some of them noted in their comments). The alumni who remained childless stayed low after finishing their educations—a period of many years now, during which they grew older and wealthier, advanced in their careers, and probably acquired a mortgage. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 1136 (
