Houellebecq canonized Trump as the archetypal antipolitician by 2019.

Evidence

Viewed from the left, the balance sheet of roughly fifteen years of antipolitics is sobering. At the beginning of 2019, Houellebecq, ever attuned to the spirit of the age, paid tribute to the greatest of all antipoliticians in a Harper’s essay titled “Donald Trump Is a Good President.” The novelist justified this verdict with reference to Trump’s nationalism, his supposed rejection of interventionist foreign policy, shared hostility to the EU, and his willingness to break with free-trade orthodoxy. On the whole, Houellebecq congratulated the American people: “They did well to elect a president with roots in what is sometimes called ‘civil society.’” — Anton Jäger, Hyperpolitics, 203
