Hornachero fighting men transferred their military skills to North African corsair communities after expulsion
Evidence
We have seen how at home in Spain the fighting powers of the formidable men from Hornachos had imposed, if not respect, circumspection. Those same Hornacheros were now employing their fighting skills for the part-Morisco communities of Tetuan and Sallee. … Tetuan was not itself an actual pirate center, of course. It is not, after all, a seaport at all, but it was close enough to various small ports from which piracy could be organized. Its distance from the coast meant it was safe from surprise enemy landings. — L. P. Harvey, Muslims in Spain, 1500 to 1614, 1658
