Hitler’s Big Lie technique was borrowed from Allied trench propaganda
Evidence
Hitler had learned about propaganda firsthand during the war, from observing the effects of Allied leaflets on his comrades in the German trenches. He credited the British with inventing the Big Lie technique, as in their stories of atrocities supposedly committed by German soldiers. His solution was simply to tell bigger lies than anyone else, and tell them over and over and over. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3062
