The result is that we cannot fully come to grips with its wider impact in the present moment. The remnants of slavery and white supremacy remain with us today, as does Margaret Barber’s legacy. Our failure to hold ourselves accountable for it has not lessened the severity of the impact. A debt is owed to black Americans. When will it be repaid? — Dorothy A.
