Granadan proverbs ranked Catalans as more cunning than Mudejars

Evidence

This last proverb is a series of sneers at various groups. Among some Arabic-speaking Granadans this seems to tell us there was a hierarchy of distrusted noninsiders, and in this ranking the Mudejars occupied only the third position. They were not even the top fraudsters; that honor went, in this ranking, to the Catalans. — L. P. Harvey, Muslims in Spain, 1500 to 1614, 1734
