Gramsci’s Fordism notes are the only Western Marxist precedent for Jameson
Evidence
It was then Gramsci, the thinker within Western Marxism from whom Jameson has taken least, who tried to capture the nature of the consolidation or counterrevolutions of capital between the wars. His notes on Fordism represent, in fact, the only real precedent in this tradition for Jameson’s enterprise. It is no accident that they gave rise to so much discussion after the Second World War, or various attempts to sketch the features of a ‘post-Fordism’ in the seventies and eighties. — Perry Anderson, The Origins of Postmodernity, 182
