God’s self-gaze divides the divine self by perspectival distance
Evidence
The Christian God is for Hegel the primal instance of the speculative. In the Christian God the gaze is born, for he is the very exemplar of the reflecting eye. Here the formula ‘to see (what is) coming’ truly comes into its own, its structure expressing the self-movement of the divine hypotyposis. As God manifests himself to his own gaze, the specular presentation divides the divine self from itself, offering the divine the perspectival vision of its own self-presence. — Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel, 854
