The New Yorker lampooned this claim in a Talk of the Town piece, snarking that “a relationship with Gary V means an ironclad guarantee that he’ll reply to your email within four months, with at least a ‘thx’ or a ‘mwaa’” (Friend, “V-va-va-voom!”). But when I emailed Gary asking for sales figures for Crush It!, he did reply, forwarding me to his publisher (who then refused).
