Gandhi’s demeaning views of Untouchables remained consistent across his adult life.
Evidence
It’s true that Gandhi often contradicted himself. It’s also true that he was capable of being remarkably consistent. For more than half a century—throughout his adult life—his pronouncements on the inherent qualities of Black Africans, Untouchables and the labouring classes remained consistently insulting. His refusal to allow working-class people and Untouchables to create their own political organisations and elect their own representatives (which Ambedkar considered to be fundamental to the notion of citizenship) remained consistent too. — Ambedkar, B R, Annihilation of Caste_ The Annotated…, 424
