French employers’ federation CNPF financed the Mont Pèlerin Society’s European operations
Evidence
The CNPF of Georges Villiers subsidized the MPS in Europe and sponsored its meetings. The fourth congress of the Society was thus held in France in September 1951. Organized in Beauvallon, on the French Riviera, and bringing together sixty-eight participants, it cost the CNPF nearly 2 million francs (the rough equivalent of 39,000 contemporary euros). — Philip Mirowski & Dieter Plehwe (eds.), The Road from Mont Pèlerin, 292
