Federal narcotics agents recruited informants to entrap Ginsberg

Evidence

LEMAR held several demonstrations in early 1965 and on August 10 put out a press release revealing that days earlier four Federal narcotics agents met with twenty-four-year-old musician Jack William Martin III, busted along with one Dale Wilbourne on July 29 for possession of marijuana, and offered him a lighter sentence if he helped set up Ginsberg. Refusal to cooperate, he was warned, meant his bail would be raised from 5,000 to 100,000 and he’d face additional charges. Meanwhile, Wilbourne was unable to make even $5,000. β€” J.
