Exposure to sympathetic Holocaust portrayal does not protect viewers against later denial
Evidence
We cannot say that Schindler’s List had any effect on belief in the Holocaust. The students who chose to see the movie may have known about the Nazis’ systematic annihilation of the Jews before they went; those who did not know, and did not want to know, mav have generally avoided the film. What we can say, unfortunately, is that the non-Jewish students who saw the movie were not protected against later Holocaust denial. They fell for Christophersen just like everyone else. — Bob Altemeyer, The Authoritarian Specter, 3299
