Exposed resume fraud carried no career penalty for executives
Evidence
Wexler’s (2006) ethnographic study of résumé fraudsters in high managerial positions sheds some light on how lying can be transformed into an indicant of admirable occupational attributes. These executives were dismissed after their résumé deceptions were discovered. This deceit apparently carried no moral stigma, because they found even higher-paying jobs within a few months. — Albert Bandura, Moral Disengagement, 1434
