Even anti-establishment provocateurs yield when real capital objects.
Evidence
Bolsonaro announced that he would be abolishing the Environmental Ministry. But this was the first moment that his brand of provocative anti-politics clashed with reality. Just because you believe your country can get rich if it stops listening to the politically correct, gay, rainforest-loving, communist environmentalist scientists does not mean it’s actually true. Brazilian agribusiness already quite liked the current setup in the country, and they told him it would be against their interests to abolish the ministry. So he didn’t. But by starving the indigenous defense and environmental defense agencies of resources, and clearly aligning with extractive interests in the Amazon, he gave illegal miners and loggers space to increase their violent dominion over parts of the vast rainforest. — Vincent Bevins, If We Burn, 728
