Europe’s Muslim share would double every decade and a half even with zero immigration

Evidence

According to the Pew Research Center, the total number of European Muslims is projected to continue to increase and this would remain true even if all Muslim immigration stopped today. For example, even if all immigration were halted at this very moment, the population of Muslims would still increase from 4.9 percent to 7.4 percent of the population of Europe by the year 2050, due to simple demographic change. This increase in European Muslim populations will occur mainly because Muslims tend to be younger (by thirteen years, on average) and because they also have higher fertility rates (usually at least one more child per family, on average). — Arsalan Iftikhar, Fear of a Muslim Planet_ Global…, 557 (#expands, via linked claim)

Given that the current European population is approximately 450 million, with atotal Muslim populationof approximately15million, such expansion from 3 per cent to 40 per cent within twenty years would be nothing short of miraculous. Even if Turkey was integrated into the EU, the proportional impact of 68 million Muslims would be reduced by the forthcoming inclusion of ‘Christian’ nations such as Romania and Bulgaria. In Italy, there are approximately 1 million Muslims in a population of 57 million. In France, which has the largest MuslimpopulationinEurope,therearebetween5and7millionMuslims in a population of 60 million. — Matt Carr, You Are Now Entering Eurabia, 76 (#complicates, via linked claim)

It is completely reasonable to assume that the overall Muslim population in Europe will increase, and Muslim citizens have and will have a significant imprint on European life. The prospect of a homogeneous Muslim community per se, or a Muslim majority in Europe is however out of the question. — HandWiki contributors, Eurabia, 27 (#complicates, via linked claim)
