Edie Sedgwick’s arrival pulled Warhol into club and youth culture scenes

Evidence

Edie’s conquest of the Factory coincided with Warhol’s enhanced interest in youth culture music. He was going out to clubs. One photograph taken that spring has him posed with Malanga and Chuck Wein as a rock band at Steve Paul’s West Forty-Sixth Street venue, The Scene. Another photo shows the mock Andy Warhol Fan Club that Billy Name created for a Mademoiselle fashion shoot. — J. Hoberman, Everything Is Now, 720
