Divine plasticity is the new modality of self-determination via self-alienation
Evidence
By speaking of a ‘plasticity’ in God, I want to insist precisely on the very factor of the time or temporality of Christianity. Through this aspect, a new conception of self-determination becomes visible. This new modality of the donation and reception of form discovers its fundamental concept in alienation (Entäußerung): subjectivity determines itself by distancing itself from itself, becoming other than it is. Its form is representation (Vorstellung). And the phenomenon that performs the role of hypotyposis – the translation of the spiritual into the sensory – is the Incarnation. — Catherine Malabou, The Future of Hegel, 833
