Cutting silent gaps over 100 ms makes audio books into continuous speech streams.

Evidence

In order to have a spatially complex masker, the interfering speech consisted of two streams of ongoing speech spoken by two different female talkers, and was obtained from two audio books in the German language. Any silent intervals exceeding 100 ms were cut from the signals to ensure a natural-sounding continuous speech stream without pauses. β€” Dijk, Pim van, Physiology, Psychoacoustics and…, 1627
