Cochlear hydrodynamics can be simulated by analog electrical equivalent circuits
Evidence
(Strube, 1985), the mass and damping characteristics along the basilar membrane are represented by inductors and resistors, respectively, whereas a capacitor is used to represent the energy storage capabilities, such as those of a spring. Using this approach, the vibrations in the membrane are simulated as longitudinal-wave propagation that resonates at a frequency-specific point, abating quickly thereafter. β Ville Pulkki, Matti Karjalainen, Communication Acoustics- Anβ¦, 1637
