Christian love of neighbor should not depend on empirical safety calculations
Evidence
As Christians, it should not matter. Christians can commit to loving and welcoming our neighbors without privileging our personal safety. We can be committed to working toward shalom—peace—wherever we are and with whoever surrounds us. Therefore, we do not have to argue with those who peddle false fear toward others. If they claim to be Christians, we can hold them to the examples from the Bible. — Andrew L. Whitehead, American Idolatry, 403
