Celebrities routinely treat the craftswomen who serve them as invisible
Evidence
I wish I could say that all my star clients were as generous and gracious as Lily and Ellen, but that was not the case when I encountered one Miss Julia Roberts. I met her through the wardrobe department while she was filming I Love Trouble with Nick Nolte in 1994. Julia had just returned from her honeymoon with her first husband, Lyle Lovett. As I unpacked over thirty sweaters for the pretty woman to sift through, she ignored me as she bantered with the film’s costume designer and wardrobe supervisor, bragging about the prowess of her new husband, Lyle. She kept repeating the phrase, “Good gracious, I’m so sore down there,” indicating the size of Lyle’s love offering. I chalked it up to her youth and insecurity. I thought that it was her way of saying to the world, “My hubby may be short on looks but damn, he’s long on penis.” — Dolores DeLuce, Blow Jobs, 83
